Adriel Ahote Origins

Adriel Ahote Origins

America, land of the free, or so it used to be…

Despite arriving in America long before the colonialist brutes responsible for allegedly ‘taming the frontier’ Adriel’s ancestors had peacefully and prosperously lived in for generations, the people of the Apache, Sioux, Shoshone and Cheyenne tribes are portrayed as little more than backward savages by America’s new more ‘Civilised’ inhabitants.

Born in 1881, growing up in a time of xenophobia, war and oppression created no easy upbringing for Adriel yet this did not deter him from becoming a good person. His parents, one a soothsayer in his tribe the other an entrepreneur from New York were often supportive of Adriel yet were also a prime source of bullying material for other kids to use against him given the fact his father was a white man.

Adriel would practice with his bow every day for hours upon end, sometimes forgetting to eat and drink he was that engrossed in what he was doing. He did not view his love for the bow, a tool of violence, as a means to kill but as an art form. He admired the skill and dedication it took to be an effective marksman, something he strived to be him self one day.

By the age of 18, Adriel had an almost innate ability to track down and kill animals, locate rare flora and fauna in a heartbeat, use conventional weapons like the tomahawk and bow to an extremely accurate and deadly degree but also with a level of finesse and brew potent medicines that no commoner’s snake oil could possibly ever rival.

All these factors ensured he could not only handle him self but also made him an extremely well respected figure among his and other tribes, quickly putting to rest the fact his father was a Bilagaana (White person). One fateful day however, Adriel’s comfortable life in the thick wooded seclusions of Tall Trees was about to come to a gruesome, bloody halt.

Adriel’s father, due to his skin colour and charisma, was usually the one to do supply runs to the local town Blackwater. Unfortunately for him however the rest of the world didn’t happen to share his tolerance for minorities and people knew of his affection towards the supposed ‘savages’ he consorted with leading many suspicious townsfolk and the military to view him as a sympathiser and a spy.

One fateful day however, public outcry had reached tipping point and on a supply run like no other he’d had before, Adriel’s father was confronted by an angry mob outside Blackwater of which its members contained lawmen who without remorse beat him beyond recognition to a bloody pulp before having him arrested and interrogated. That was the last Adriel heard of his father, but whatever happened to him in the cold confines of Sicica State Penitentiary, was enough to make him talk.

Days after his capture and torture, a platoon of Colonel Favours men were dispatched to Tall Trees to kill or have their way with Adriel’s tribe. At the time of the massacre, Adriel had heard the gunshots but was embroiled deep in a hunt and was too far away to judge accurately where the shots were coming from.

Upon arriving back to his now decimated home, Adriel witnessed for the first time just how cruel life could be. Bodies of childhood friends lay burnt to a crisp beyond recognition. The severed limbs of tribe elders decorated the ground with vibrant splashes of now dried crimson blood. Tents lay ablaze with now dying fires reducing cloth to ash. A sickly smell of rotting flesh filled the air, choking Adriel as he tried to inhale the pungent fumes to breathe.

Adriel rushed to his family teepee. Pulling back the make-shift door he saw to his absolute horror his mother, laying there riddled with bullet holes, choking on her own blood. There was nothing he could do. She looked him in the eye and uttered four words. “Be better than this..” embracing her one last time, Adriel sat with her for what felt like hours…

After burying his mother and dismantling and tidying the mess what the soldiers had left behind, Adriel decided to take his mothers words to heart. Revenge would surely get him killed. Adriel did not fear death but did not want to hasten the process either, especially not for a cause as meaningless as revenge, nor did he wish to let down his mother. He was sure Favours and his men would pay one day, just not by his hand…

After this life scarring event, Adriel became a recluse and a survivalist, hunting every day deep in the woods just to make ends meat, fighting skinners, the US army, Bounty hunters and anything bigger than him with teeth and an appetite. This earned him the second name of Ahote meaning ‘lives in the woods’. As well as being revered by locals as the ‘Lone Survivalist’. It was said by locals that a restless man in covered in leaves and dirt could often be seen at night in the woods of Tall Trees. In reality, Adriel would often be wearing a bloodstained hunter’s jacket embroiled with leaves and twigs, armed with a bow with a quiver full of his custom-made arrows.

Come 1899, Adriel is now serving jail time in his father’s tomb, Sicica. Fuelled with nothing but hatred for the army after being framed and imprisoned for stealing a military issue medical vaccine supply wagon, Adriel hears rumour of a gang with similar morals actively recruiting known as the Indigo Princess headed by Flynn Prince…

Carson Knox Origins

Carson Knox Origins

Carson lived on a ranch that was owned by his father, sadly his father past due to alcoholism and Carson’s mother past during 1862 while giving birth.

In 1889 Carson was hunting when he heard a couple of gunshots coming from his ranch as he went back to the ranch he had only discovered that bandits had taken everything and completely robbed the place.

Then suddenly over the hills he heard laughter echo so he jumped on his horse following the direction of the laughter and spotted the bandits riding off and although he wanted to kill them without hesitation he took a moment to think and followed them to their camp. Later on that day he had been scouting the camp for some time now thinking about every exit trying to get into the mind of his enemies where would they run and how could they get out.

Eventually while coming up with some cunning plan a bandit on guard duty had seen Carson and shot at him, this is when Carson jumped on his horse riding out of there as fast as he could, once he arrived back at his ranch he knew it was dangerous to stick around but didn’t care this was his fathers last gift and he would rather die then give it up to some filthy bandits.

The next day he woke up feeling strange but heard men talking outside, as he went to check it out he got hit in the back of the head knocking him unconscious, couple hours went by then he woke up for a second time but a entrepreneur leader looking guy gets on his knee and says don’t ever follow my men again Carson then stared him right in the eyes, the man stood back up and said “we live in a cruel world” then threw Molotov cocktails at the ranch burning it down to ash.

Hours later once they left, Carson was on the floor in shame and anger everything his father left him gone.

Weeks had gone by and Carson was in grieving but yet couldn’t do anything against an entire crew but then a thought struck him so he went to buy materials, weapons and better clothing then started making the ranch into some sort of fort placing wooden planks here and sandbags there. Eventually he put both revolvers in each holster but modified them to hold 8 bullets not 6.

The next day his plan was ready to go so he went back up to the bandit camp placed a makeshift bomb at the gate and leaving a note outside in line of site saying “come get me   And this time why don’t you just kill me your old friend Carson”.He knew the note had worked because the ground was vibrating knowing a lot of men riding horses were on the way and before they could even get off their horses dynamite goes of blowing fields into flames. Carson then starts shooting with both revolvers equipped killing every bandit he could get his eyes on defending the ranch alone 1 against 50, eventually the remaining bandits scattered and fleed.

Carson then jumps on his horse riding to the bandits camp which had no men inside but the leader as Carson walks into the camp he gets shot in the arm. Eventually as they shoot at each other they run out of ammo and take it fist to fist Carson throws punches with one arm as the leader throws punches with two Carson then notices an explosive barrel he kicks the leader and gives him a good right hook leaving him disorientated, Carson then runs towards a tent acquiring another revolver he picks it up and shoots it upwards at this point they are both bloodied and the leader starts shouting taunts Carson is about to end the leaders life but lawmen show up telling Carson to drop his weapon and thank him for capturing a wanted criminal, but that isn’t good enough for Carson considering the leader took what Carson held dearly so he shoots the barrel killing the leader and then dives behind some rocks and as the lawmen shoot at him he returns fire but jumps on his horse knocking over all the lawmen in his way but escaping with his life.

The year is now 1899 and who knows where Carson is or what he is up to.

Flynn Prince Origins

1897 was the year that Flynn prince decided to bring together a crew composed of several old friends and few new allies. Prior to 1897, he used to serve as a captain in the U.S Army where he suffered an injury to his left shoulder and lost feeling in the arm which ensured he was sent home with an honorary medal. He struggled to find a job when he returned home due to the injury and economic turmoil so he relied on some old friends to offer work where possible, this was ongoing until a few associates he knew from the army approached him with a job offer. He accepted the offer and left with them to Mexico where they proceeded to rob several small towns which was not part of the initial offer, he was resilient to commit such acts and planned to return to the U.S immediately but before he could leave he witnessed a robbery go wrong and a shootout started against some of the local bandits.

The fight that ensured was over in an instant with all the bandits dead and one of the kills belonged to Flynn, afterwards he was determined to leave so he took a share of the money and got on a horse, this was when unfortunately his associates noticed him leaving town and pulled to revolvers on him. It was then that one of the bandits from the attack shot both of them dead and pointed to Flynn, he had survived the shootout earlier and was content on getting revenge on his fallen bandit brothers. Flynn explained his side of the story at gunpoint and the bandit whose name was Javier Escuella decided to let him go on the condition he kept all the stolen cash and that Flynn was not to cross the border again.

Having just arrived back in the U.S, Flynn was faced by a squad of U.S rangers who were expecting his associates at the bridge, they assumed the worst and opened fire on Flynn as he ran toward close cover. He managed to down one ranger before he ran out of ammo in his pistol, they were closing in when suddenly a train passed over the bridge and between him and them. He wasted no time and jumped aboard into a cargo car, not far behind the remaining four rangers jump on the several cars behind and what followed was an intense melee fight. When the train arrived at the next station only Flynn made it off with bloody fists and a gunshot wound, he needed to find a doctor and fast.

It was at the town of Thieves Landing where he met a Doctor by the name of Lance Howard who offered to patch him up out of courtesy, with no certain future and broke, Flynn offered his services to the doctor in exchange for shelter, food and coin. For the following seven months they worked together and formed a strong friendship, it was then that a military battalion entered Thieves Landing on a routine scout however among the soldiers was a ranger who had survived the fight with Flynn and immediately recognised him. The following day several soldiers stormed the house where he was living, many shots were fired and Flynn ran to the nearest boat with the doctor and barely escaped. They were sailing across to New Hanover when Flynn noticed the doctor bleeding, before he could do or say anything Lance was dead. On the boat he found a weapons cache which he would soon put to much use because waiting for him on the shore was the surviving ranger and several other soldiers which appeared to be arguing with the ranger about the operation.

The boat hit the shore and the soldiers all peered inside to find only the dead doctor, Flynn had jumped out and swam with his guns above the water to the nearby shrubs where he attacked all the soldiers by surprise, he had killed all but one who fled using his very boat which would later result in Flynn being a wanted man for life! He accepted his fate and he would soon after create a crew called The Indigo Princes which rob, attack and expel the U.S army and other government bodies.

The year is now 1899 and not much is known about the whereabouts or recent deeds of Flynn or The Indigo Princes but rumour has it intend on scaling up their operations across the west.

But, Jesse was quite the saver of his wealth and bribed the lawmen to simply let Jesse rot. And rot he did. That man would return many times throughout those three years to give Jesse a good beating to remind him that, he killed the wrong person. But, the money kept Jesse alive. Young was release from his small rugged cell after Jesse’s money had ran out and that man had stopped coming by. Jesse’s return to freedom wasn’t a happy one, where he found out every former gang member had died or left the state. He had felt that a mountain rain downed on him. He decided to ride south, to find new life, hoping to make Johnny proud and to make something of himself. If that was to join a gang or start his own. Or to settle down in a snowy log cabin and have a son. Something Johnny would would dream for. Jesse Young’s journey is untold and uncertain.
